A lack-of-fit test for functional regression models is proposed. The test is based on the fact that checking the no-effect of a functional covariate is equivalent to checking the nullity of the conditional expectation of the error term given a suffic

Suppose we have a location-scale regression model where the location is the conditional mean and the scale is the conditional standard deviation; the response is possibly right-censored, the covariate is fully observed, and the error is independent o

Although a distinct cytokine profile has been described in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with chronic periodontitis, there is no evidence of GCF cytokine-based predictive models being used to diagnose the disease. Our objectives wer

This article examines the problem of nonparametric testing for the no-effect of a random covariate (or predictor) on a functional response. This means testing whether the conditional expectation of the response given the covariate is almost surely ze

We propose a new lack-of-fit test for quantile regression models that is suitable even with high-dimensional covariates. The test is based on the cumulative sum of residuals with respect to unidimensional linear projections of the covariates. The tes

In this note we show that the mathematical tools of cooperative game theory allow a successful approach to the statistical problem of estimating a density function. Specifically, any random sample of an absolutely continuous random variable determine

The microgeographic variability of consanguinity in the Archbishopric of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia) between 1900 and 1979 was studied. This Archbishopric covers 106 local councils integrated by 964 parishes, of which 677 (70.23%) were analyzed.
