Intensities and widths of atomic spectral lines of He, H, and Fe, excited in an atmospheric-pressure helium inductively coupled plasma (He ICP) were measured with a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. These data along with measured intens

The intensity distribution in the rotational structure of the electronic band B 2 Σ + g → X 2 Σ + g of N + 2 (0,0) was measured by high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometry. This spectral information enabled estimates of the rotational tempe

A fully automatic comparator has been designed and implemented to determine precision wavelengths from high-resolution spectrograms. The accuracy attained is superior to that of an experienced operator using a semiautomatic comparator with a photoele

Line profiles of 10 Ar I lines emitted from an ICP ( T = 6800 K) are carefully evaluated with the Los Alamos Fourier Transform Spectrometer. In contrast to a previous paper, which reported measurements of 6p-4s, 5p-4s, and 4p-4s transitions (all 4s g

Shifts in spectral line positions of argon, iron, barium, calcium and strontium are addressed in this preliminary study of the effect of pressure, and electron density on wavenumber position in the 27.12 MHz inductively coupled plasma (ICP). We repor

The high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer (FTS) of the Los Alamos National Laboratory was used for diagnostic studies of Ar-N 2 ICP discharges. High-resolution FTS data were obtained to: (a) conduct analysis of line widths and line shapes fo

Ten self-contained 27.12-MHz Inductively Coupled Plasmas (ICP) are generated in a static torch. The torch offers spectroscopists a closed-system, low-pressure (0.1-100 Torr), variable-power (currently up to 1 kW) plasma. Doppler temperatures (Na D) m

A system for the real-time monitoring of emissions from incinerators must be developed which can address the needs of the DOE community and others involved in mixed waste incineration. These needs are an outgrowth of the ever-increasing waste storage

Molten-carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) operate at 650°C and 0.1-1 MPa. MCFCs generate electrical energy through the conversion of the fuel gas (either natural gas or coal gas) using an electrolyte of molten carbonate with nickel electrodes. Because of
