In this paper, we propose a method that estimates the variance of an imputed estimator in a multistage sampling design. The method is based on the rescaling bootstrap for multistage sampling introduced by Preston (Surv Methodol 35(2):227-234, 2009).

Reliable survey data is needed to be able to infer survey findings to the general population. However, self-selection or panel attrition of the survey respondents may bias survey estimations. To tackle these challenges, weighting adjustments have bee

Before conducting a survey, researchers frequently ask themselves how large the resulting sample of respondents needs to be to answer their research questions. In this guideline, we discuss how sample size calculation is affected by the sampling desi

Established face-to-face surveys encounter increasing pressures to move online. Such a mode switch is accompanied with methodological challenges, including the need to shorten the questionnaire that each respondent receives. Split Questionnaire Desig

The multilevel and poststratification approach is commonly used to draw valid inference from (non-probabilistic) surveys. This Bayesian approach includes varying regression coefficients for which prior distributions of their variance parameter must b

Planned missing survey data, for example stemming from split questionnaire designs are becoming increasingly common in survey research, making imputation indispensable to obtain reasonably analyzable data. However, these data can be difficult to impu
