In previous papers, degree theory for nonlinear operators has been used to study a class of three-point boundary-value problems for second order ordinary differential equations having a super-linear term, and existence of a sequence of solutions has

In a finite network, there is a classical theory of traffic flow, which gives existence of a Wardrop equilibrium for given OD demands and affine route costs. In this note, the existence theory is extended to infinite networks.

We consider a three-point boundary value problem for operators such as the one-dimensional p-Laplacian, and show when they have solutions or not, and how many. The inverse operators are given by various formulas involving zeros of a real-valued funct

We consider a one-dimensional heat equation with inhomogeneous term, satisfying three-point boundary conditions, such that the temperature at the end is controlled by a sensor at the point η. We show that the integral solution, in the space of conti

Flanders' Hilbert space or finite power theory of infinite networks was extended to 1-networks by Zemanian. A new approach uses approximation by finite networks, a-priori bounds from no-gain properties, and Arzela–Ascoli, in a continuous function s

We study an ordinary differential equation which models the behaviour of a class of neural networks, which are similar to the Hopfield networks, and which can give convergence in finite time. For application to optimisation problems, and other applic

Given a nonlinear infinite resistive network, an operating point can be determined by approximating the network by finite networks obtained by shorting together various infinite sets of nodes, and then taking a limit of the nodal potential functions

We study solutions of the "linear system in a saturated mode" $$\begin{array}{*{20}c} {(M)} & {x' \in Tx + c - \partial I_{D^n } x.} \\ \end{array} $$ We show that a trajectory is in a constant face of the cubeD n on some interval (0,d]. We answer a

Suppose customers pass through a network of two queues in parallel. A statedependent routing policy gives individuals their quickest journey. The Downs-Thomson effect is any increase in the long-run expected journey time caused by an increase in the
