We are building an experiment to search for dark matter in the form of dark photons in the nano- to milli-eV mass range. This experiment is the electromagnetic dual of magnetic detector dark radio experiments. It is also a frequency-time dual experim

We have measured the amplitude-to-phase modulation (AM-to-PM) conversion in a silicon p-i-n photodiode for the first time and found that it behaves qualitatively similar to III–V detectors previously reported in the literature. One or more minima i

An imaging system is proposed for matter-wave functions that is based on producing a quadratic phase modulation on the wavefunction of a charged particle, analogous to that produced by a space or time lens. The modulation is produced by co-propagatin

A LiNbOsub3/sub-loaded microwave cavity pumped with weakly AM-modulated 30 fs optical pulses was used as a platform to investigate AM-to-PM conversion in the optical rectification process. Theoretical treatment of AM-to-PM conversion (i.e., peak-indu

The AM-to-PM conversion gain of a silicon p-i-n photodiode was found to be dependent on laser beam radius and spot position on the photosensitive area.

Early in the history of ultrashort light pulse techniques, the application of electro-optic modulators as a chirping mechanisms was explored by many researchers [8-11]. is technique of pulse chirping, combined with newer approaches to dispersive de

Under femtosecond pulse illumination the AM-to-PM conversion gain of a silicon p-i-n photodiode was measured to be as high as 7 dB below the AM and exhibits deep nulls at discrete photocurrents with bias dependence.

A lithium niobate-loaded microwave cavity pumped with femtosecond optical pulses was used as a platform to study AM-to-PM conversion in optical rectification. The conversion gain β i /m was measured to be –42.1 dB, independent of optical power.

We derive an expression which relates harmonic intracavity phase modulation to the resulting timing stability degradation of modelocked lasers. Random intracavity phase perturbations can be caused by, e.g., pump power fluctuations, which have been sh

Variation in the round-trip group delay through an intracavity prism pair is studied as a function of index variation in the gain medium. The resulting sensitivity to index perturbation gives insight into the degree to which pump noise will transfer
