A synthesis is described for the protected N-terminal nonapeptide (A11-A 19) fragment of rubredoxin, methyl Na-benzyloxycarbonyl-O-t-butyl-L-tyrosyl-L-isoleucyl-O-t-butyl-L-tyrosyl-L-t-butyl-L-aspartyl-L-prolyl-L-alanyl-L-leucyl-L-valyl-glycinate.
