For a significant composition range, the suppression of the spin density wave transition temperature ($T_{\text{SDW}}$) in Cr- and Mn-substituted BaFe$_{2}$As$_{2}$ (CrBFA and MnBFA, respectively) coincides as a function of Cr/Mn content, despite the

Phonon anomalies are commonly attributed to Fermi-surface nesting or phonon anharmonicity, but these mechanisms do not apply in all cases. Here, the authors propose a new mechanism based on electron-momentum-dependent electron-phonon coupling in the

Electron-phonon coupling, i.e., the scattering of lattice vibrations by electrons and vice versa, is ubiquitous in solids and can lead to emergent ground states such as superconductivity and charge-density wave order. A broad spectral phonon line sha
