The macrocyclic small molecule inhibitor ipomoeassin F (Ipom-F) binds to the central Sec61α subunit of the Sec61 complex and induces cytotoxicity by disrupting multiple aspects of Sec61-mediated protein biogenesis at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
