The fast and reliable analysis of the natural gas composition requires the simultaneous quantification of numerous gaseous components. To this end, fiber-enhanced Raman spectroscopy is a powerful tool to detect most components in a single measurement

Selective detection and chemical analysis of trace gases at concentration levels of parts per million (ppm) and below is of critical importance in environmental monitoring [1] and medicine [2]. Spectroscopic techniques offer high gas-type selectivity

We investigate refractive index changes caused by femtosecond photoionization in a gas-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fiber. Using spatially-resolved interferometric side-probing, we find that these changes live for tens of microseconds after th

We investigate long-lived photoionization-induced refractive index changes in gas-filled photonic crystal fiber by observing the frequency shift of a dispersive wave emitted by a soliton propagating against the ionizing pulse.

We observe long-lived refractive index changes in the hollow core of an argon-filled anti-resonant-guiding photonic crystal fiber, caused by plasma formation through femtosecond pulse compression and probed interferometrically through the fiber cladd

We report CARS in hollow-core gas-filled PCF. The results pave the way to single-shot broadband (>4000 cm−1) CARS under ambient conditions. A detection limit of 300 ppm was reached with 200 mW overall laser power.

We report the use of coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) in gas-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fiber (HC-PCF) for trace gas detection. The long optical path-lengths yield a 60 dB increase in the signal level compared with free-space a

We report coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) in a gas-filled single-ring hollow-core photonic crystal fiber (SR-PCF) using a pump-probe configuration. The long collinear path length offered by an SR-PCF strongly enhances the efficiency of
