The aim of this paper is three-fold. First, it introduces the low-noise amplifier, its relevance in modern wireless communications receivers and the performance expected of it. Then, it presents an exhaustive review of the existing topologies, presen

A new conveyor-based single-ended to differential balun is proposed. Thanks to the quasi-absence of passive components, this is an extremely size-efficient balun (0.036 ). The use of a new impedance-matching technique makes this balun the first trans

A low-noise amplifier (LNA) implemented in a low-cost Si-BiCMOS 0.8-/spl mu/m process is presented. It utilizes current conveyors as building blocks. The principle and design methodology are presented, followed by results obtained from simulations. A

A new topology of active bandstop filters is proposed in this paper. Two prototypes based on this topology have been implemented: the first one in GaN technology and the second one in GaAs technology. This topology allows reducing the 3 dB bandwidth

Medical implants operate on a tight power budget and have very low latency communication requirements. To reduce power consumption, medical implants typically contain an additional radio, called wakeup receiver (WURX). WURX is an ultra low power rece
