A $^{60}\mathrm{Co}$ source has been used to photoactivate the 396 keV isomeric level (${T}_{1/2}$\ensuremath{\sim}48.6 min) of $^{111}\mathrm{Cd}$. Our results confirm the existence of nonresonant contributions.
