An optoelectronic noise suppression circuit connected to the RF input of a commercial diode laser mount is presented. Adjustable phase shift and amplitude control enable efficient suppression of the relaxation oscillations of a diode laser-pumped Nd:

The center frequency of a polarization-stabilized He–Ne laser drifted less than 10 MHz over 10 years, and the deviations from a straight line were only 1 MHz (rms). The response to small diurnal temperature variations (∼1°C) was −1.2 MHz/°C.

We present experimental and theoretical investigations of a Gaussian laser beam interacting with Zeeman-tuned J=1→J=0 atomic systems. In our experiment a single-mode cw dye-laser beam traverses a neon discharge in a longitudinal magnetic field. The

An international comparison of 127I2 He-Ne stabilized lasers, used as length standards, has been made. Five laboratories from Sweden, Denmark (two laboratories), Finland and Germany were represented. In addition, two lasers from the Bureau Internatio

The interaction of a 633 nm He-Ne laser with a magnetically tuned Ne gas absorber, placed outside the laser, is investigated. The investigations are performed in the Faraday geometry with the laser free running and mode-locked. The free running laser

The principle and the construction of an intensity and a frequency‐stabilized single‐mode internal mirror He–Ne 633‐nm laser are described. An intensity stability better than 10−3 and a frequency stability better than 10−8 are obtained. T

An important effect to be considered in forward-scattering experiments is demonstrated. Ring-shaped structures are observed in the transverse intensity distribution of the forward-scattered light induced by an intense CW single-mode dye laser in an e

We investigate forward scattering induced by a powerful single mode dye laser interacting with excited neon systems. We present experimental data obtained with the three transitions: 1s 4(J=1)-2p 3(J=0), 1s 2(J=1)-2p 1(J=0), and 1s 5(J=2)-2p 4(J=2).

We investigate polarization spectroscopy as a probe of broken left-right symmetry in neon atoms. In the cascade 1s 4 -2p 4 -3s 2 three-level system the upper transition is probed by a linearly polarized weak HeNe laser beam. The symmetry of the lower
