Mossbauer parameters are reported for a range of tin(IV) complexes, containing the potentially chelating ligands 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxH) and salicylaldehyde (salH). There are three main types of complex: (i) SnY2 ox2 and SnY2 sal2(Y = halogen, alkyl

The products of the insertion reactions of a number of tin(II) compounds SnX2(X = Cl, Br, I, NCS, HCO2, and AcO) with [(π-C5H5)Fe(CO)2]2 and (π-C5H5)Fe(CO2)2Cl are compared with those from replacement of Cl from [(π-C5H5)Fe(CO)2]2·SnCl2 and (π-C

The ternary tin(II) halides SnXF (X = Cl, Br, I), SnlX (X = Cl, Br), Sn2XF3(X = Cl, I), Sn2BrCl3, and Sn3BrF5 and the ditin(II) isothiocyanate trihalides, Sn2NCSX3(X = F, Cl, Br, I) have been prepared and identified by their X-ray and 119Sn Mossbauer

The Mossbauer effect in some metal(I) and metal(II) derivatives of the trifluorostannate(II) and pentafluorodistannate(II) ions is reported. The results are discussed in terms of the suggested structures of the complex ions.

Crystal field effects are suggested as a possible explanation of the anomalous chemical shifts of tin(II) oxides and fluorides, and a value for the chemical shift of tin(III) is obtained.

The aqueous and molten SnF2–MF2(M = Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, and Pb) systems have been studied and the preparation of the crystalline trifluorostannates(II) Sr(SnF3)2, Ba(SnF3)2, PbFSnF3, Sr2Sn2NO3F7,2H2O, and Pb2SnNO3F5,2H2O described. The infrared and 119
