The sintering of finely dispersed, supported iron oxide particles in H2S has been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements. Particles treated in air at 873 K, are shown to sinter at much lower temperatures.

A Mossbauer in situ cell for studies of catalysts and small particles is described. The cell allows studies in the temperature range 78-725K with the sample either in ultra-high vacuum or in the presence of gases. Furthermore, the cell is designed fo
