A five fiber Bragg grating (FBG) array is inscribed at the same spot with a single uniform phase-mask (PM). The inscription setup consists of a near-infrared femtosecond laser, a PM, a defocusing spherical lens and a cylindrical focusing lens. The tu

Experimental limitations such as design complexity and low optical throughput have prevented photonic nanojet (PNJ) and photonic hook (PH) measurements from demonstrating and characterizing the implementation of narrow intense electromagnetic beams g

Optical microfibers find new applications in various fields of industry, which in turn require wear resistance, environmental friendliness and ease of use. However, optical microfibers are fragile. Here we report a new method to prolong the microfibe

We report highly efficient Raman conversion to the first Stokes in SF6-filled hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers. We obtained 70% conversion efficiency and observed dependency on the input polarization angle of the pump beam.

We experimentally report a substantial Raman conversion efficiency enhancement, achieving more than 100% improvement over previous reports. The enhancement results from a non-trivial vibrational Raman conversion efficiency sensitivity to the input pu

Phase-shifted-gratings and arrays of fiber-Bragg-gratings are inscribed with a uniform phase-mask. These gratings are inscribed with 800 nm femtosecond pulses and a uniform phase-mask where the wavelength tube-ability is achieved by defocusing and ph

Two slightly shifted wavelength gratings are inscribed one over the other in a single mode fiber by shifting the phasemask between two positions. The inscription setup includes a NIR femtosecond laser, a phase-mask, a defocusing spherical lens and a

We inscribe a fiber Bragg grating in an Yb-doped multicore LMA fiber, and demonstrate efficient lasing with it in a fiber laser configuration. We obtain 51.8W output power with a 72% slope efficiency.

Bragg gratings were inscribed with a NIR femtosecond laser, cylindrical lens and a phase mask on the surface of a thin GaN film grown on a sapphire substrate. The phase mask was used to produce stable interference patterns from the focused femtosecon

Two slightly shifted wavelength Bragg gratings are inscribed one over the other in a single mode fiber, by moving the phase-mask (PM) between two positions. The inscription setup includes a NIR femtosecond laser, a PM, a defocusing spherical lens and
