27 nm electrical wavelength tuning of external cavity laser with linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG) has been demonstrated. Wavelength tuning has been achieved by changing the modulation frequency around 2.1 GHz.

A current variation less than 3 mA applied to a single electrode induces a step tuning of 15 nm in a sampled fiber Bragg grating external cavity laser. The output power is 6 dBm and side mode rejection -40dB.
