A copper(II) complex of (R)-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)pipecolate (pmpi) was prepared, and its structure was revealed by X-ray crystal structure analysis. Mixed ligand complexes were then prepared from this complex and (R)- and (S)-N-(t-butoxycarbonyl)leucin
