As one major problem after tendon rupture repair, surgeons are confronted with fibrotic adhesion formation of the healing tendon to the surrounding tissue. Although early active motion is recommended during rehabilitation, adhesions may lead to joint

In this work, the antibacterial properties of nanostructured zinc oxide (ZnO) surfaces are explored by incorporating them as walls in a simple-to-fabricate microchannel device. Bacterial cell lysis is demonstrated and quantified in such a device, whi

Tendon injuries can result in two major drawbacks. Adhesions to the surrounding tissue may limit the range of motion, while fibrovascular scar formation can lead to poor biomechanical outcomes. Prosthetic devices may help to mitigate those problems.
