Synthetic chemists develop a "chemical intuition" over years of experience in the lab. Here the authors combine machine learning of (partially) failed experiments with robotic synthesis to capture this intuition used in searching for the optimal synt

Methanation of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) is attractive within the context of a renewable energy refinery. Herein, we report an indirect methanation method that harnesses amino alcohols as relay molecules in combination with a catalyst comprising rutheniu

Finding pragmatic solutions to curb the accumulation of atmospheric CO2 and tackle the associated greenhouse effect is challenging. Herein, we demonstrate the use of an in situ formed frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) within a metal–organic framework (MO

We describe a polymeric ionic liquid (PIL) derived from trimethyl(p-vinylbenzyl)ammonium chloride ([VBTAm]Cl) that efficiently catalyzes the N-formylation of amines employing CO2 and PhSiH3 at room temperature with low catalyst loadings in near-quant
