Effect of Dilution on Mold Counts of Tomato Catsup

Mold counts of samples from 34 catsup factories in the United States were made by two methods: a direct count and a 1 + 1 dilution. An average mold count on undiluted catsup of 44% (which is in a significant range) was reduced to an average of 35.5%
