Abstract Background and aim Diabetes raises the risk of dementia, mortality, and cognitive decline in the elderly, potentially because of hereditary variables such as APOE. In this study, we aim to evaluate Diabetes mellitus and the risk of incident

The apolipoprotein E (APOE) ɛ4 allele is a recognized genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Studies have shown that APOE ɛ4 mediates the modulation of intrinsic functional brain networks in cognitively normal individuals and significa

Abstract Background Two main genetic risks for sporadic Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are a family history and ɛ4 allele of apolipoprotein E. The brain and retina are part of the central nervous system and share pathophysiological mechanisms in AD. Met

Cortical thinning 3 years after ischaemic stroke is associated with cognitive impairment and APOE ε4
Publikováno v:
NeuroImage: Clinical, Vol 36, Iss , Pp 103200- (2022)
Cortical thinning has been described in many neurodegenerative diseases and used for both diagnosis and disease monitoring. The imaging signatures of post-stroke vascular cognitive impairment have not been well described. We investigated the trajecto

Objective: Low concentrations of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) amyloid-beta (Aβ-42) are associated with increased risk of cognitive decline in Parkinson's disease (PD). We sought to determine whether APOE genotype modifies the rate of cognitive decline

A family history (FH+) of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and ɛ4 allele of the ApoE gene are the main genetic risk factors for developing AD, whereas ɛ4 allele plays a protective role in age-related macular degeneration. Ocular vascular changes have bee

Genetic background has been considered one of the important contributors to the rate of cognitive decline among patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD). We conducted a 4-year longitudinal follow-up study, recruited 255 AD and 44 mild cognitive impairm
