Oral tolerance is a key feature of intestinal immunity, generating systemic tolerance to fed antigens. However, the molecular mechanism mediating oral tolerance remains unclear. In this study, we examined the role of the B7 family members of costimul

There is little knowledge about the factors that determine the allergenicity of food proteins. One aspect that remains to be elucidated is the effect of the food matrix on immune responses to food proteins. To study the intrinsic immunogenicity of al

ICOS and CD28 are expressed by T cells and are involved in costimulation of cytokine production in T helper (TH) cells. ICOS binds B7h expressed by several cell types, whereas CD28 binds B7.1 and B7.2 expressed by activated antigen presenting cells.

Dendritic cells (DC) migrate to lymph nodes on expression of C-C motif chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) and control immune activity. Leptin, an immunomodulatory adipokine, functions via leptin receptors, signaling via the long isoform of receptor, LepRb.
