Near linear scaling fragment based quantum chemical calculations are becoming increasingly popular for treating large systems with high accuracy and is an active field of research. However, it remains difficult to set up these calculations without ex

The topography of the seabed (orientation and gradient) and rheology of the flows greatly influences the character of basin-floor turbidity current deposits. Therefore, submarine fan pinchouts can help to constrain seabed topography and flow behavior

A novel allylic 1,6 hydrogen-atom-transfer mechanism is established through infrared activation of the 2-butenal oxide Criegee intermediate, resulting in very rapid unimolecular decay to hydroxyl (OH) radical products. A new precursor

Hydroperoxyalkyl radicals (˙QOOH) are transient intermediates in the atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds and combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in low temperature (1000 K) environments. The carbon-centered ˙QOOH radicals are a critical

The infrared (IR) spectrum of tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) in the region of the first OH-stretching overtone has been observed under jet-cooled and thermal (300 K, 3 Torr) conditions at ∼7017 cm−1. The jet-cooled spectrum is recorded by IR mul
