Four volcanic ash layers have been identified in Lateglacial and Holocene sediments from three lakes in the Jura Mountains: the Vasset Tephra and the Nugere Tephra (Chaine des Puys), the Vedde Ash (Icelandic), and the Laacher See Tephra (LST; Eifel).
