We introduce a drone delivery system for the "last-mile" logistics of small parcels. The system serves mixed delivery areas modeled as EMs. The shortest path between two destinations of an EM concatenates the Euclidean-and Manhattan-distance metrics.

We study the possibility of using drones to implement an automated picking system in a warehouse. We imagine a warehouse divided into two contiguous areas: in one area, the drone moves according to the Euclidean distance, while in the other area, the

For a graph $G$, the \emph{$r$-bootstrap percolation} process can be described as follows: Start with an initial set $A$ of "infected'' vertices. Infect any vertex with at least $r$ infected neighbours, and continue this process until no new vertices

In making undergraduate admissions decisions, colleges and universities must take a large amount of data into consideration for each applicant. Surprisingly, there is almost no work reported in the literature for a systematic, automated use of the we

We propose an architecture to harness the comparatively low computational power of geographically concentrated mobile devices (such as in a wireless ad hoc network, especially a sensor network) to build a wireless ad hoc lattice computer (WAdL). The

In this paper we first present a uniformity property that characterises optimal channel assignments for networks arranged as cellular or square grids. Then, we present optimal channel assignments for cellular and square grids; these assignments exhib

We show that root lattices are exactly those lattices whose relevant vectors are all equal in length. We define notions of "compatibility" between the euclidean metric and the shortest path metric in the infinite directed graph induced by a subset, G

An approach to analogical representation for objects and their motions in space is proposed. This approach involves lattice computer architectures and associated algorithms and is shown to be abstracted from the behaviour of human beings mentally sol
