Strata-bound cobalt-copper deposits occur in the metasedimentary rocks of the Apple Creek Formation (Mesoproterozoic) in a linear belt called the Idaho cobalt belt, near Salmon, Idaho. We report the first set of lead isotope measurements on silicate

Little is known about the influence of exercise on induction and elicitation phases of in vivo immunity in humans. We used experimental contact-hypersensitivity, a clinically relevant in vivo measure of T cell-mediated immunity, to investigate the ef

Sulfide ores containing principally argentiferous galena, sphalerite, and tetrahedrite occur both in Paleozoic sedimentary rocks and in Late Cretaceous granites along the eastern margin of the Idaho batholith in central Idaho. Two genetic models have

New lead isotope data on ores, crustal rocks, and leachates of crustal rocks, combined with data in the literature, provide important new constraints on the sources of ore metals in southwest to south-central Bolivia, including the very large recentl

Soils in the southern half of Water Conservation Area3A are mostly peats with some organic-rich marls. Mercury contents of 64 surface samples over a500 km2 area average 28.7 ng cc-1 (209 ppb drysediment), which is typical of organic-rich soils. High

Copper ore sources exploited during the Late Postclassic Period (1300 to 1521 CE) were located by means of lead isotope analyses of copper ores from 15 deposits in West Mexico, Oaxaca, and Veracruz and of 171 copper artifacts from nine Mesoamerican a

Two types of melt pockets occur in Hawaiian mantle xenoliths: amphibole-bearing (AMP) and spinel-bearing (SMP). AMPs contain amphibole (kaersutite), olivine (Fo92), clinopyroxene (with 7–11% Al2O3), vesicles and glass. SMPs contain olivine, clinopy
