In this paper we prove that the Stone-Cech-compactification of the natural numbers does not admit a countable infinite decomposition into subsets homeomorphic to each other and to the said compactification.

This survey article presents some recent results in the theory of hyperfields and hyperrings, algebraic structures for which the sum of two elements is a subset of the structure. The results in this paper show that these structures cannot always be e

This paper addresses the performance of polar codes in the context of the quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol. It introduces the notion of an interactive polar decoder and studies its performance. The results demonstrate that the interactive deco

Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) error correction is a one-way algorithm that has become popular for quantum key distribution (QKD) post-processing. Graphic processing units (GPUs) provide an interesting attached platform that may deliver high rates o

Polar coding is the most recent encoding scheme in the quest for error correction codes that approaches the Shannon limit, has a simple structure, and admits fast decoders. As such, it is an interesting candidate for the quantum key distribution (QKD

The paper studies the optimal use of energy in wireless networking, the feasibility region of tasks that share a multi-access channel, and efficient algorithms for determining if a given set of tasks and resources falls within the feasibility region.
