Recently, we determined the detailed energy level structure of the $X^1\Sigma^+$, $A^1\Pi$ and $a^3\Pi$ states of AlF that are relevant to laser cooling and trapping experiments. Here, we investigate the $b^3\Sigma^+, v=0$ state of the AlF molecule.

We report on the calculation of collision induced rotational excitation cross sections and rate coefficients of AlF by He atom at low temperature. These quantities were obtained by first computing the interaction potential energy surface (PES) of the

Phosphate, by virtue of its intrinsic capacity to form complexes with aluminum, interferes extensively with the aluminum monofluoride molecular absorption spectrometric (MAS) method for fluoride. However, it has now been found that in the presence of

The high temperature species, SiO and AlF, have each been treated with 2,2′-bipyridyl in tetrahydrofuran solution at − 105 °C and in an adamatane matrix at − 196 °C to give products which have spectroscopic properties closely resembling the k

An alternative method for the determination of trace levels of fluoride in drinking and sea-water samples is presented. It is based on the formation of the aluminium monofluoride complex in excess of Al3+ and separation of the two species formed (AlF

The Hel photoelectron spectrum of gaseous AIF(X 1 Σ + ) has been recorded and the first three cationic states have been assigned with the aid of PNO/CEPA calculations. The first band shows vibrational structure and analysis of the component separati

The spectrum of AlF in emission has been examined with moderate dispersion in the range 2000-7500 A. Four systems have been found: (1) the system A1Π - X1Σ+ at 2190-2360 A, already known in absorption, (2) a system of violet-degraded bands, probabl

The vibrational analyses of three triplet band systems of aluminium monofluoride obtained in emission have been carried out. They arise from transitions from three 3Σ states to a common lower 3Π state. The order of the sub-levels of the 3Π state a
