An order-of-magnitude frequency noise reduction of a low cost tuneable semiconductor laser is presented. The stabilized-laser is used as local oscillator in the successful coherent detection of DP-12GBaud-QAM4/16/64 (48/96/144 Gbit/s) signals.

Novel all-optical-hardware-efficient carrier recovery unit for carrier-suppressed BPSK signals is demonstrated. For the first time, carrier recovery with an optically stabilised injection-locked semiconductor laser enabled successful homodyne detecti

6.25GHz-spaced optical-comb-line selection either by low-coherence injection-locked laser (LC-ILLD) or with a combination ultra-narrow-filter and low-noise-fiber-amplifier (UNF-FA) is assessed. In a 144Gbps DP-64QAM transmission the LC-ILLD outperfor

Full-band injection-locking properties of a high power, low phase noise, tunable monolithically integrated CSG-DR-LD are investigated. An average injection-locking range of 2.5GHz at optical injection ratios of -22dB is obtained. These characteristic
