Since 2001 an experimental test facility for investigation of lifetime of a copper material, with respect to multiple RF pulse actions, was set up on the basis of the JINR (Dubna) FEM oscillator, in collaboration with IAP RAS (Nizhny Novgorod). A hig

Two methods of efficiency enhancement of free-electron maser (FEM) oscillator with the Bragg resonator having a shift of corrugation phase were studied. The first one is a “starting mode” regime using an additional high-frequency mode located in

It is known that precise frequency tuning of a FEM oscillator with a Bragg resonator could be performed by changing the corrugation phase shift between the reflectors. This report presents new experimental results obtained using a tunable band-pass w

In an FEM oscillator with a Bragg resonator excitation of an additional starting mode can be exploited as a source of an initial signal for the operating mode. In such a regime the starting mode has a rather small detuning from synchronism resulting

A 1.5-dimensional model of Compton/Raman free-electron laser (FEL) amplifiers with helical wigglers has been composed by using the helical-trajectory approach. This model has been used to analyze results of earlier experimental investigations of Comp

This paper is devoted to progress in the JINR-IAP FEM experiment based on a 1 MeV/200 A/250 ns LINAC. This FEM generates 30 GHz pulses of 150 - 200 ns pulse duration and 20 - 30 MW power with an efficiency on the level of 20 $25%. The high efficiency
