Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements have been made on Dy 3+ and Er 3+ in lanthanum nicotinate dihydrate (LaND) single crystals, for comparison with the information described in the previous paper about single crystals of DyND and ErND.

In this study the photoacoustic signal of cobalt-ferrite based particles has been investigated near the semiconductor band-edge and in the very small-size limit. In these limits we find that the photoacoustic signal scales with both the zero- and the

Atomic force microscopy (AFM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) were used to unfold the nanoparticle size of a ferrofluid sample. Compared to TEM, the AFM method showed a nanoparticle diameter (Dm) reduction o

Magnetic resonance is used to study magnetic dipole particle–particle interaction in ionic water‐based iron‐manganese magnetic fluids. A set of six samples having particle concentration running from 1.2×1016 to 6.3×1016 particles/cm3 were fro

In this study photoacoustic spectroscopy is introduced as a promising experimental technique to investigate magnetic fluids (MFs). The spectral features of representative uncoated- and coated MFs in the 0.3–1.0 μm wavelength region have been discu

We report for the first time electron paramagnetic resonance linewidth measurements in an ionic water-based ferrofluid. The linewidth broadening is studied as a function of the particle-particle distance. We change the average particle-particle dista

Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of nearest neighbour pairs have been measured for the light lanthanide ions Ce3 and Nd3 in lanthanide nicotinate dihydrates, for comparison with the properties of the heavy lanthanide (HLn) ions Tm3, Dy3, Tb3 a

The effects of high microwave power level upon the ferromagnetic resonance line of ferrofluids at room temperature are investigated. The distortions of the resonance line with increasing power levels give evidence of an apparent foldover effect attri
