The low-temperature thermal conductivity of lithium nitride (Li3N) shows a temperature dependence which is typical for a good dielectric crystal with K(T) varies as T3 below about 1.5K. Its absolute value, however, is about 2.6 times smaller than exp

The effects of γ, electron and neutron irradiation on the thermal conductivity (70 mK ÷ 100 K) of Ni-doped Al2O3 and pure Al2O3 single crystals have been studied. The results after neutron irradiation show that the behaviour of the Ni3+ ions in the

Specific-heat and thermal-conductivity measurements performed in the temperature range (0.1 ÷ 10) K on several low-density silica aerogels have shown very unusual behaviours. The results together with the sound velocities data have been analysed wit

The authors report on the thermal conductivity of tin-doped bismuth between 50 mK and 27K. A quantitative interpretation of the data is presented. At the lowest temperatures the electronic thermal conductivity dominates, but above 0.1K lattice waves

Far-infrared absorption lines have been observed in Mn-doped Al2O3 at 9 and 50 cm-1. These values are inconsistent with those expected for Mn3+ in a substitutional site and provide further evidence that Jahn-Teller effects are present in this system.

The effect of γ-irradiation on the thermal conductivity of samples of Mn or Cr-doped Al2O3 is measured between 1.3 and 300 °K. Ions with an even number of electrons (particularly those with the Mn3+ configuration) are much more effective in scatter

We present measurements of specific heat, thermal conductivity, internal friction, and relative change in sound velocity in the temperature range 0.1--10 K on several base-catalyzed and neutral-reacted low-density silica aerogels (\ensuremath{\rho}:
