A noticeable change in the n=1 exciton reflection band of KI and RbI crystals exposed to air was revealed after cleavage in liquid helium. This change is explained by disturbance of the near-surface layer by charged surface dislocations and other def

Exciton states of LiH1−xFx in the exciton band of lithium hydride are investigated by optical methods. It was found that spectra of the lowest-energy exciton band of these crystals follow the persistent type of behaviour. The relation of exciton en

Reflection spectra of NaI crystals cleaved in liquid helium are investigated in detail. A fine structure is discovered in the spectral region adjacent to 2S exciton resonance at the high-energy side. It is interpreted as the manifestation of the spli

Over about sixty-year investigations of the intrinsic absorption edge of NaI its absorption (reflection) spectra have been worked out in detail, but they have a „static” character, which is one of the reasons that made their interpretation diffic

The resonance multiphonon luminescence spectra of NaI single crystals are investigated experimentally in the temperature region of 4.2 to 65 K. A detailed investigation of the temperature dependence of peak energies and the intensities of the compone

The multiphonon resonant Raman scattering spectra in NaI and LiH (LiD) cubic crystals characterized by self-trapping of excitons are investigated experimentally. The first-order scattering cross section is established to depend on the wave vector. Th

The shape of one-phonon sidebands of exciton in LiH is studied both in reflection and edge luminescence spectra. The main structure of the shape is found to reflect the phonon density of states. This fact is interpreted as a result of a high anisotro
