We report demonstration of room temperature artificial spectral hole burning in microwave domain. Narrow spectral hole with 3 dB linewidth ∼6 MHz and depth> 35 dB is burned in homogenously broadened Brillouin gain spectra.

We present a high resolution (50 MHz), wideband (25 GHz) microwave photonic instantaneous frequency measurement system exploiting the wavelength dependence of Brillouin shift to obtain an amplitude comparison function.
