Symmetry is a unifying concept in physics. In quantum information and beyond, it is known that quantum states possessing symmetry are not useful for certain information-processing tasks. For example, states that commute with a Hamiltonian realizing a

We demonstrate a procedure to diagnose where gate faults occur in a circuit by using a hybridized quantum-and-classical machine-learning technique, using a diagnostic circuit and selected inputs. We numerically demonstrate an accuracy of over 90%.

Quantum number-path entanglement is a resource for super-sensitive quantum metrology and in particular provides for sub-shotnoise or even Heisenberg-limited sensitivity. However, such number-path entanglement has thought to have been resource intensi

It was suggested in (Motes et al 2015 Phys. Rev. Lett. 114 170802) that optical networks with relatively inexpensive overheads—single photon Fock states, passive optical elements, and single photon detection—can show significant improvements over

BACKGROUND: The TP53 pathway, in which TP53 and its negative regulator MDM2 are the central elements, has an important role in carcinogenesis, particularly in BRCA1- and BRCA2-mediated carcinogenesis. A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the pro

In recent campaigns, Tore Supra has focused its efforts on the physics optimisation and operation of stationary scenarios with high input power (up to 8 MW), duration of more than 60 s and vanishing loop voltage (up to 80% of non-inductive current).
