This study investigated if mental health literacy for depression is a multidimensional construct, and sought to identify its components and to construct empirically derived questionnaire subscales. Following a literature review, items were generated

While the contribution of Bacteria to bioremediation of oil-contaminated shorelines is well established, the response of Archaea to spilled oil and bioremediation treatments is unknown. The relationship between archaeal community structure and oil sp

For oil spills in the open sea, operational experience has found that conventional response techniques, such as mechanical recovery, tend to remove only a small fraction of oil during major spills, a recent exception being the Mississippi River spill

Bioremediation was conducted in the field on a mature Rhizophora stylosa mangrove stand on land to be reclaimed near Fisherman's Landing Wharf, Gladstone Australia. Gippsland crude oil was added to six large plots (>40 m(2)) and three plots were left

Over a three-year period (1995-1998), me studied shortterm effects of dispersant use and a bioremediation strategy in two consecutive field trials in sub-tropical Australian mangroves, In each case, weathered oil was applied, and a large spill simula

Bioremediation was investigated as a method of treating a mixture of Forties Crude Oil and Heavy Fuel Oil stranded on Bullwell Bay, Milford Haven, UK after the grounding of the Sea Empress in 1996. A randomised block design in triplicate was used to

Bioremediation of oil contamination has been shown to be effective for cobble and sandy shorelines. To assess the operational limitations of this technology, this project studied its potential to treat buried oil in fine sediments. The effectiveness

When the Sea Empress ran aground at the entrance to Milford Haven at 2007 hours on Thursday, February 15, 1996, she lost a total of 72,000 tons of crude oil over a period of 7 days. Another paper in this session gives an overview of the incident and

During the cleanup operations following the Sea Empress oil spill, it was observed that the oil emulsion did not adhere strongly to the shoreline and that fine mineral particles present in the surf waters interacted with oil to form clay-oil floes. I
