In-plane normal modes of vibration of p-substituted (F, Cl, Br, I) nitro- and amino-benzenes, p-dinitrobenzene and p-phenylenediamine specific to the mono or polyatomic substituent are assigned. New bands are recorded by laser Raman spectroscopy.
