We have used the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data release 7 (DR7) and the 2MASS (Two Micron All Sky Survey) Redshift Survey (2MRS) $K_{s} \le11.75~\mbox{mag}$ data release to test for physical association of candidate companion quasars with putat

We present a power spectrum analysis of the final 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey, employing a direct Fourier method. The sample used comprises 221,414 galaxies with measured redshifts. We investigate in detail the modelling of the sample selection. A new

In this paper we present the Spitzer IRS low-resolution observation for four candidates of Seyfert 1-like objects of ULIRGs from the SDSS-2dF-6dF sample. It is found that they are all real Seyfert 1-like objects because their infrared spectra are sim

We analyse the redshift-space (z-space) distortions of QSO clustering in the 2dF QSO Redshift Survey (2QZ). To interpret the z-space correlation function, xi(sigma,pi), we require an accurate model for the QSO real-space correlation function, xi(r).

The clustering properties of local, S_{1.4 GHz} > 1 mJy, radio sources are investigated for a sample of 820 objects drawn from the joint use of the FIRST and 2dF Galaxy Redshift surveys. To this aim, we present 271 new bj < 19.45 spectroscopic counte

We present the first results on the history of star formation in the Universe based on the `cosmic spectrum', in particular, the volume-averaged, luminosity-weighted, stellar absorption line spectrum of present day galaxies from the 2dFGRS. This meth
