The decomposition of Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is carried out at 623 K within 30 min using a co-solvent system comprising of ethanol and water. It has not previously been possible to carryout the decomposition of PEEK below 703 K in aqueous media.

Post-use polyurethane (PU) foam was degraded in superheated water at 423 to 623 K. The yield of diaminotoluene (TDA), one of the products, reached near 90%. The hydrolysis conditions (time and temperature) were important and the perfect liquid produc
